It's a New Year & Northlake is Booming...

J. Scripter |

Northlake, Texas, is one of the fastest-growing communities in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex, reflecting the broader regional boom that has defined North Texas over the last decade. Originally home to just over 5,200 residents in 2020, the town’s population more than doubled to an estimated 10,746 by mid-2024, marking a 105.7% increase since the 2020 Census and sustained annual growth of around 13% in recent years. This rapid influx of new residents has kept Northlake on the radar for both families and investors seeking an alternative to more established suburban markets. Census.gov+1

Affluence and a young demographic profile are hallmarks of Northlake’s evolving community. The median household income stands at approximately $119,803, substantially higher than state and national averages, and has shown consistent growth year-over-year. The median age in the town is around 28 to 29 years, indicative of a relatively young population with a significant proportion of families and professionals. Median home values and per capita incomes have also trended upward as development continues, further underscoring the area’s economic momentum. Texas Demographics+1

Economic development in Northlake is tied closely to its strategic location at the crossroads of major transportation corridors, including Interstate 35W and State Highway 114, as well as its proximity to the Alliance and DFW airports. This has encouraged a diverse mix of commercial and industrial activity. Major employers and business facilities in the area encompass logistics and manufacturing operations such as Mainfreight, Schluter Systems, Stanley Black & Decker, TreeHouse Foods (which acquired the local Farmer Brothers facility), Volvo, Crown Lift Trucks, 3M, Clorox, Incora, and Walgreens, among others. These firms contribute to a growing economic base that complements the town’s residential expansion.
